Community Unity Day
In 2014, we held six Community Unity Days which included 11 area high schools. The schools included: Blake, Middleton, King, Leto, Robinson, Tampa Bay Tech, Durant, Chamberlain, Jefferson, Sickles, and Hillsborough. At each service, Central hosted team players, coaching staff, parents, faculty, and administrators for a day of fellowship and unity. At several of the services, we were also joined by our local community service groups. The Tampa Police and Fire Department spoke to the congregation of members and guests, reminding us that we are all crucial to creating and maintaining a productive community.
The purpose of Community Unity Day is to promote the centrality of our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. King David said, "Oh how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity." The goal of these services is to create and foster a greater unity among both players and neighboring communities.
Our message is we are better together. We have more in common than we have in conflict. Unity makes us stronger as a community and better as a people.
